PIP REVIEW

Hi
My pip award expires in September 2024, (it says it'll be reviewed before that point) and im getting concerned ive not heard from them about beginning the review process yet.
I know they usually start the review process when there's less than a year left. My sons got reviewed last year, was up in December and they sent me the paperwork in February. So by that reckoning I'd expected to have heard from them by now about mine.
Are they just running behind on reviews so that's why I haven't heard, or should I be concerned they've somehow missed my case?
I don't want to run into problems because my award expires & they haven't begun the review process. Wondering if I should call, but don't want to spend 5 hours holding to get through just to be told they're behind with reviews atm! Thanks 🙂

Currently review forms are being sent out about 8 months before your award is due to end. They sometimes send a text to tell you that your review has started and to expect the forms in the post in the next 2 weeks. As your PIP is due to end in September then you should expect the forms anytime from Feb.
There's also very long delays for review decisions so you could be waiting a considerable length of time for a decision.
Please also make sure you treat it as a new claim, even if there's been no changes.2 -
Thanks that's really helpful, didnt realise it was 8 months now. Yeah they extended my sons award because they hadn't completed the review, took them nearly a year after receiving the forms. Crazy stuff. Yes I'm aware not to just put 'no change' but go into plenty of detail, give examples & send updated evidence. If I get stuck I'll ask advice here or try the CAB. Thanks again1

It will be impossible for any to predict what the decision will be. Once the decision is made you will be contacted.
