Backdated claim

Hi.
I first went onto UC in march. Initially was just handing in sick notes from doc but on advice filled in UC50 in May.
I was put on limited capability for work but not work related activities last year. Appealed the decision and lost in August. Appealed that and finally won last week. Question is when will they backdate the claim from? To my mind four dates… First when I opened the UC claim, Second when awarded LCW. Third when I appealed it and 4th when I appealed and won … Any advice for me here?

It will be from when you first reported your health condition, provided by a fit note within 7 days of that. You then have a waiting period before the extra money is paid, which is 3 full assessment periods. It's then paid from the 4th month, with first payment being the end of that month. It's not paid at all during that period.
Your first payment will be either July or August 2023.
The exact date will depend on what date exactly you reported your health condition/provided your first fit note. What date you usually receive your money each month.1 -
Ah ok poppy. In that case it will be when UC50 was completed (one would hope). So discount may/june/july making it Aug. Or end of as you point out. Still approximate but it’s still best I’ve had so far. Thank you0

No, it's not from when you completed the UC50 form. You said you were providing fit notes, what date exactly did you start providing them?
Did you continue to provide them without any gaps until the original decision was made?
