The government has it's priorities totally wrong
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-68209712 says that they are planning on spending £5billion on a faster internet - who actually need 1000Mbps ?
The NHS is struggling and £5billion would mean thousands of nurses and doctors could be provided ...
I started on the internet on 56kbps dial up (true speed probably 20kbps) which satisfied my needs at the time - this slowly increased via ADSL to 1Mbps then fibre came and a huge step up to 80Mbps - which is fast enough for most people - so who needs 1000Mbps ?

Thanks for sharing @Wibbles. I'm not very savvy on this kind of thing, do you think we'll ever get to a point in the future where 1000mbps is useful to us as a nation?
It does seem like a strange investment when there are so many other problems with the country.0 -
I have 1GB(1000mbps) full fibre internet but it’s mainly for gaming, most people would be fine with 80-400+(depending on family size and how many connected devices in use at once).

I understand that some people are unwilling to wait a few more minutes for a download but any game will run perfectly on say 100Mbps..... That's 1/10 of your speed
Whereas a life saving op that needs 2 trained surgeons cannot be successfully carried with just the one!!0 -

In my opinion before moving onto such high speeds they need to look at areas that have very low speeds. My max speed is 26 Mbps and in todays standards that’s terrible.
