Ok I might have 6,000 saveings next week when I get back pay so I’m asking what happens if I tell them will stop it or take some off my claim with my partner I getting bit worried since repair tell them next week when get money in bank

    Money that's owed to you from benefits is disregarded for 1 year from the date you receive it.

    As I advised, money that's owed to you from benefits is disregarded, which means it's not counted towards your savings for 1 year.

    If you had less than £6,000 before you had the lump sum then there's nothing to report and nothing will happen.

    Please remember that when you ring any DWP department you're speaking to someone from a call centre who will very often have very little knowledge of benefits, other than to sit there reading from a screen. Therefore, they are not the best people to ring for such advice and you should avoid doing this.

    Hi just rang them want bank statements saveings  I do t understand want year or month

    Maybe kill myself since one on want me to do since don’t know what bank statements they want
