Hello
It’s great to be on here after spending a lot of time looking on the internet for some advice. I think this maybe the right place.

I am the Parent and also the Appointee of my daughter Ima. She has learning difficulties, ADHD and is also Dyslexic.
Currently, she is able to stay on in college as she has been issued with an Educational Health Care Plan (we fought long and hard for the EHCP).
In January 2024 she has eventually been accepted for her claim for Universal Credit. Again, after going back and forth, initial claim for UC being declined etc.
We have filled in the Medical Assessment form for UC about four weeks ago.

We just wanted to know does anyone know how long this process is, for example how long does it take for UC to let us know whether they have received the form (that’s of course if they actually let you know) do they make their decision for LWCRA just going off the form and any evidence provided? Or do they ask for an assessment whether it be face to face, video or a call? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

They don’t usually let you know that the form has been received. Most people have assessments, which are mostly by phone, some are also face to face or video. If an assessment is needed your daughter will be contacted, unless you are her appointee and then you will be contacted.
It can sometimes take several months for the whole process. Once a decision is made a decision letter will be uploaded onto her journal.1 -
