ESA wca

So I had a work capability assessment for esa on Friday I was very stressed about it.
It lasted a whole 17 mins and I barely got a chance to explain anything and that I wanted to. Now feeling like I didn’t say anything I wanted to. I did explain fully on the forms.
weirdly the assessor referred to something on a past form. I guess at least they read it and back history.
the assessor was pleasant and asked a handful of questions and ended it to my surprise. Usually lasts about an hour from past ones.

Now the painful wait. It’s really a nightmare doing this.
Not sure how long the wait is at the moment.
Been difficult recently not 6 months ago I had my pips assessment although difference very similar in assessment I found. I was hoping they could use that in my mind.
A friend of mine claims both pips and esa but recently failed an esa assessment and was shocking found fit for work (not the case) although if he could he would. How on earth is that possible to pass pips and fail esa not sure if that is common. He’s not appealing that.
hoping that doesn’t happen in my case.

Anyway just a little or a lot worn down with this whole process which has been going on months. It sits on the mind niggling away. Found it hard to take my mind off the whole thing.
Hope everyone is doing well with whatever the struggle is!

WCA can last anywhere from 15 to 120 minutes. The length of time it took is no indication of what the decision maybe.Once the report is returned a decision can take anywhere up to about 12 weeks.1

I received a txt message today from the dwp telling me they have received the report for my assessment. And advises they will write to me once they have made a decision.About 12 days ago my assessment was. They are working fast.
should have a decision soon i guess depending on backlog.0 -
Thanks for the update @Matthewsuk, that's quite a good turnaround. I hope you are not waiting too long for the outcome.1

What a shock I received my post this morning and have a decision letter basically I failed my re-assessment dispute a worsening and documentation proving so. I knew that short wca assessment would be an issue. Didn’t even get a chance to say much.I only received a txt yesterday saying they had received my report! Never known them to work so quickly.Which means I have been found fit for work, couldn’t be further from the truth! I would love to if I could!
A little confused what to do am I expected to claimed job seekers allowance knowing I can’t work ? (Makes no sense)
apply for universal
credit ? (Don’t really know much about it)Any advice would be most appreciated!0 -
I’m sorry to hear that! Out of curiosity, what is the date on the letter you received? Were you in a group prior to this? If so which group? Was this the first time you’ve been found fit for work or has this happened before? The answer to this will determine what happens next.Sorry for all the questions!0
