WCA query

Hi everyone I’m new here and found this site through endless and useless other “info” sites and I’m hoping someone can help.
I started claiming UC September ‘23 and have unbroken fitnote history til present date. I had a WCA on 8/12/23 and have still not received an answer. Is this normal waiting time ? If they award the LCWRA element will it be backdated ? How will they notify me ? Thanks for any help.

Hi @bluepeter, welcome to the community. Sorry you haven't had a response to this so far, but I hope you're doing well today. I'll pop your post over to our Universal Credit boards where hopefully some of our lovely members can share their experiences with you and offer some advice0

It can take up to 12 weeks once the assessment report is returned for a decision. It does seem to be rather a long time but if your report was chosen for audit this maybe why you haven't had a decision yet.
Put a message onto your journal and ask about the decision on your WCA. Tell them the date you had the assessment and ask if a decision has been made yet.
If found to have LCWRA then the waiting period is 3 full assessment periods from when you provided your first fit note. It's then paid from the 4th month after that with first payment being the end of that month.
Your first payment will be either Jan or Feb, depending on what date exactly you provided your first fit note and what date you usually receive your money each month.

thanks for the reply poppy. I’m still waiting to hear back from my assessment but have spoken to UC helpline and they’ve put a notice on my journal that my case manager has to reply to by the 12th April. So we’ll see if that happens 🤞0
