Permitted work

Hi there I'm looking for advice. I currently claim ESA and do permitted work. I work on average 10-15 hours a week on a zero hours contract. I have now been offered a 15 hour contract. I'm wondering if accepting this contract would cause any issues with DWP? The total earned would be below the threshold. Thanks in advance.

Providing the work you do doesn't contradict the reasons why you're claiming ESA there shouldn't be any issues. You will need to make sure you tell them that you will be working 15 hours per week.

Hi, what happens if you go over the permitted work earnings limit for 1 week. Do you lose esa forever or do you just lose it for that time and have to pay back 1 weeks worth. I have never went over the limit but just wondered what happens if you do? Thanks

Your ESA could end if you exceed the permitted work earnings and hours.
