This will be my 3 rd review for pip.
I returned my forms Sept 2023.
ive had text every 3 months saying basically it’s still awaiting.
Ive just received a letter extending my award until April 2025.
it then goes into say “we will write to you again once we have completed the review”
would this suggest a paper based review or am I just reading too much into it.
any advice is appreciated

That is not a paper based review. They have just extended your award because a decision hasn’t been made yet. There are exceptionally long delays with review decisions and some are waiting longer than a year after returning their form. Most people have assessments which are mostly by telephone so you should expect one of those. Paper based assessments are possible but still rare.0

Hey @Noidea19 I understand the confusion, the same thing has happened with me with my review, I returned my forms in Feb 2023.
But two months after receiving the letter saying my PIP was extended until 2025, I received a call out of the blue (last week in fact). It was the PIP assessors wanting to clarify some of my answers, so that was basically my assessment. So things are moving along slowly with reviews, but you may not receive an actual assessment date, they may just call you if they need additional information.0 -
Thanks both. I’ve had reviews but never like this, I actually had a message last year saying my review was completed. Turns out that was sent in error. It’s the way it was worded that confused me. Fingers crossed for a quick phone call and done. Last review was 2 hours long, 4 wks stuck in audit, then another phone call from capita but I had a very good outcome. Hoping they already have enough information.

Turns out I had a paper assessment in the end. Big relief 😮💨
It took almost a year shy of a few weeks.
Just hoping it’s a good outcome after all this time.

Phew!!!
Just had my pip award letter. Awards kept the same. Awarded from 7/8/24 to 6/08/28. If taken from when review was supposed to happen it looks like a 5 year award.
Finally nice to have some breathing space 😊3 -
Absolutely amazing news @Noidea19! I'm glad you could avoid the troubles you've had previously 😁
