Good morning everyone
I was diagnosed in 2019
I'm currently living In a flat with 28 external stairs and 14 internal. The council have me down for ground floor property as I am struggling with stairs due to weakness in my legs.
We have a bidding system for availability properties. However I keep being rejected when I bid for ground floor properties as they say the property does not have a chair in the bath or shower. We all know that these things can be added once I'm in there! Please can anyone give me advice on how to get moved ASAP as I am having serious anxiety and keep hitting a brick wall with council.
Thanking you in advance
Ms B

Heya @miss_b and welcome to the community. :)

I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling with your current property. I'm unsure of an answer to your question, but I'm hoping our super smart community will have some suggestions for you soon.

I'm just going to move your post to the housing category, so more people in the know will be able to see it. I hope that's ok?

Does your banding require you to bid on adapted properties only? When I was placed into urgent medical priority I could only bid on adapted properties.

I don't think there's really any quick way of being rehoused, you just need to keep bidding but even then you could still potentially be waiting years.
