Hello
Hi everyone
My name is africaribwoman.
Can any of you give me advice on getting financial assistance to move home to a more accessible house.
Do I approach the council for a DHP application.
And also I've just enrolled onto a degree course for the first time at open University. Is there any other help that you may know of from charities or benevolent causes where I can get extra support financially towards costs of equipment like a computer equipment laptop mobile phone to help me with my studies as I have none and no support.
I also need a mobility scooter to get around as I'm moving to a rural area.
I don't want the government mobility scheme anymore usekess

Hey there @africaribwoman and welcome to the community.
I believe the first step would be talking to your local council regarding new housing. But congratulations on the OU course, that's great news! Have you had a look at a benefits calculator to see if you could claim anything whilst studying? You can also ask Open University about study related costs funding too.Albus (he/him)

Hi @africaribwoman if you're on Universal Credit you can apply for a loan for moving costs from them. Just request it in your journal. That's what I did when I moved three years ago.
