I applied for pip a month ago online, I’ve sent all my medical evidence myself but I’ve had no text or emails from DWP since applying and nothing about an assessment yet or which company is doing the assessment,
Looking at my nhs app it seems capita last week have contacted my GP as it says Capita PIP report to complete sent to GP, despite having no communication since from applying and nothing to say it’s capita who’s doing the assessment , is this normal procedure?

I wouldn’t say it’s normal because they rarely contact anyone but it does happen. As it was Capita that contacted them then it will be them doing the assessment. As it was only a month ago that you applied then it’s still early days go as it could take anything up to about 6 months for a decision. Most people have assessments so you should expect one of those. Paper based assessments are possible but rare.0

Heya @jaylab and welcome to the community.
I can see Poppy has already answered your question, but I just wanted to stop in and say hi. Often people wont here anything regarding their application until the assessment is booked, so please try not to worry too much.0 -
This exact thing happened to me with my reapplication. Like you I'd never met my actual GP but I sent them a copy of my medical record and also they wrote to the surgery. The GP who had seen me about another issue filled in the form for me. It didn't hurt my case, so I wouldn't worry about it too much at this point.
