So this has been a ongoing battle for a few weeks. I have a few problems ongoing I kept putting requests in to my doctors and they keep booking in person appointments because I need to be examined, when I say I'm housebound I'm told to ring 111 or there's nothing they can do.
I did ring 111 and they refer me back to my doctors surgery.
I'm going in a stressful circle.
I've had a couple of home visits in the past so I KNOW they can do them.
Anyone else got this issue? Any advice? 😣😣

Home visits by a GP seem to be a thing from the past now, could you not request they send a district nurse or similar.?

My mum is currently housebound, I've been able to get the District Nurse to start going round after getting nowhere with GP surgery.

Hi @JadeyT, that does sound really frustrating. As others have said, maybe there's a district nurse that could come out and see you instead?

Perhaps you could ring the surgery and ask to speak to someone about what could be done for you. It doesn't seem reasonable for them to not offer any solution at all other than ringing 111. Hope you're able to find a way forward soon.

Ive asked to speak to someone higher up the tree but got nowhere. It's not something the district nurses can help with, I need examining by a GP. I'm close to just giving up and if I get any worse it will be an ambulance job. But really don't want that

I've found out through using the District Nurses for my Mum, that there are others to help, there are staff senior to the DN that they can consult, Community Matrons and things can be referred onto GP albiet remotely - with Mum photos were taken, sent to GP who responded very quickly with a prescription sent to pharmacist.

I realise this may not be applicable to your problems, but thought it might help information wise.

Ooh, that's good to know, I'll explore that route, thank you very much 😊

After I was hospitalised and was assigned carers I was put on some kind of list, and started getting community nurses visiting me etc.

However I seem to be now off this list and any attempt to get a GP is met with ring 111 or if its serious go to A&E.

I dont think this is necessarily a home visit problem though, as even for appointments at the surgery they telling patients same thing, either chemist advice, 111, or A&E, they just simply massively overloaded.

This is something terrible, I asked my GP for a referral to a psychiatrist, they have my records, so they should see it.Nothig.She said would call to me in a few weeks and I told her, I hope I would still be alive, she didn't care about it, but the scope helped. You can die in home they don't care
