hello all I need some help I’m currently on lcw and was told not to send any fit notes and have applied for Lcwra in 2022 had been sending fit notes then I contacted them about Lcwra and they said it would be arranged for me to have a assessment so waited a whole year and the end of 2023 I contacted them asking about the assessment they said nothing had been arranged I have requested another arrangement which they sent form out in feb 2024 and asked for new fit note sent it back and got a assessment next month. When would be my assessment period and do I need to still send fit notes as I’ve been told not too because I’m on lcw but the other advisors have said to send one in so confused

Did you report a change of circumstances through your journal by clicking "health conditions'? If you did then it should have prompted you to provide a fit note and continue to provide them without gaps until a decision was made on your new WCA. Although you have LCW then fit notes are still needed when reporting worsening of condition.

If you did this and you're found to have LCWRA then the extra money will be from the assessment period in which you reported the changes. If you didn't do this then it will be down to a decision maker to decide when it's paid from.

@poppy123456 Yes I had to report a health condition again I did report it back in 2022 when they was ment to refer me but no one referred me so I did report a new health condition in February just gone but it didn’t say I had to keep sending them last time I sent a fit note was in march and I’ve just requested on from mar to July will that cover it ?

If you reported changes to your health condition in 2022 (and you already had LCW at that time) then I would put a message onto your journal and ask about the money that's owed to you.

When you reported changes at that time, you should have been referred for another WCA and not had to wait a year. Put the message on your journal under the payment section and tell them you reported changes to your health condition on X date (check your journal for the date you reported that) and then tell them that no one referred you for another assessment and you were waiting until Feb 2024 for the referral.

@poppy123456 thank you I have done now also do I still need to provide fit notes as I’ve had my assessment a few days ago was told not to send as I’m lcw but I’m not sure if still have to send

@poppy123456 hello poppy I have had a reply and been awarded but I’m wondering when I will receive a payment and also I told them about not being referred last time and they said nothing is owed as I didn’t have a assessment and explained that I was meant to be referred but no one did and they kind of brushing it off

What do they mean you didn’t have an assessment? Was it paper based? If so then that makes no difference.

The reason they are refusing is due to no fit notes being provided. Were you advised on your journal that fit notes are not needed? If so then point them to that and tell them if you had known then you would have provided them. It will be down to a decision maker to make the final decision.

because I wasn’t referred the last time even tho I have proof on my journal of the person saying the are requesting a referral for another wca they are saying that basically it doesn’t count because somewhere someone never referred me but I’ve explained that I was told I had to wait for a new assessment however it was never referred also I explained about being told not to send fit notes again all the prof is on my journal and just wondering when I will recieve a payment as I got a new referral in feb 2024 had my assessment last week and received the decision yesterday I have been awarded but I’m wondering when the 3 months starts from ?

There’s no waiting period because you already had LCW. You should receive the LCWRA in your next payment, unless your statement is due soon and then it may not be included. You will need to check.

For money they may owe put a message onto your journal and tell them again that you reported changes on X date and tell them you did that on your journal. Also tell them you were advised you didn’t need to send fit notes.

If you don’t get anywhere with that then request the MR.
