Hey @michaela1989 and welcome to the community.

Congratulations on the PIP award, that must be a huge relief? I'm unsure if PIP interacts with any other benefits, but as far as I'm aware, things wont change with your other benefits.

Does your UC include carers element and LCWRA element? If so then your UC will remain unchanged.

they take the careers allowance off our uvc , lcwra shows the payment he gets and then a sons disability element shows on there of that makes sense

Carers allowance is deducted in full so there's no financial gain to claiming it. The only other benefit to claiming is it that carers allowance you receive class 1 NI credits but for UC you will receive class 3.

As your partner receives the LCWRA element then they will not be able to claim carers element at the same time. You will be able to claim carers element if you look after your son for at least 35 hours per week. Your UC will then include one LCWRA element and one carers element, so you will be receiving your maximum entitlement.
