hi I was wondering if anyone could help me I started putting sick notes in from 20 December/ Jan then Jan/feb then I had one from feb till April and from April I’m covered until 2/7/24 I was awarded LCWRA on 29th April but won’t receive any payments until august I asked why and they said a gap in my sick notes, which I have evidence of them to show no gaps but due to my memory problems which they have on file also I did add the sick note two weeks late but it still covers the dates that they wanted covered does this make a difference as I’m so confused thank you for any help

Yes, the fit notes must be continuous without any gaps. Backdating fit notes are accepted at the time you provide them but when it comes to working out when the extra money is paid from they don't usually accept that backdated fit note.

You can put a message on your journal and tell them that you forgot to provide the fit note due to health issues and would the accept the backdated note. It will be down to a decision maker to make the final decision.

thank you I added the sick note 6 weeks ago before my decision was made I did put a note in and they said they will put through for a mandatory decision due to the length of time and then having to wait until august for one payment honestly my memory is awful I have to set alarms for everything and notes everywhere but I appreciate the reply thank you
