Media targeting disabled people
Have you notice the media is hell bent on targeting disabled people or those with mental health problems as scroungers and layabouts.
I watch Talk TV and the presenters seem to be gunning for us. Then they get the public on side.
The government with its decision to target pip started this recently. Do they think we like living with these conditions, where I'm in pain and living with a autoimmune condition and a chronic disease without the hope of getting better. It's so not fair. It's making my mental health worse with the worry of what's going to happen

There are some really unfortunate stories in the news @Andi66, it can be difficult to listen to some of the views that are out there and the media can really rile people up about it.
You'd hope that in this modern age attitudes towards disability might have changed to become more positive. I think in some places it has started to change, but in others there's still a long way to go before disabled people are represented fairly in the media. Especially with the election coming up, there's some nasty stuff coming to the surface in places.
You're definitely not alone in feeling affected by it all, we're here to chat if you need to 😊
