LCW to LCWRA

hi I’m new here so thanks for having me in what seems a very friendly and open place to talk. I hope this message finds whoever is reading well.
to jump straight into it I was on LCW for 3 years received a notification in my journal in march that I needed a reassessment. Filled in my paper work within that week and had it sent back. I had my decision yesterday 2nd July 2024, I commented in my journal asking about first payment and to my upset I was told it will be in Octobers/ Novembers payment. I’m really concerned. I’ve already waited since march. I’m not an arguing person neither am I strong enough to speak up about this I have crippling ptsd and quite frankly would rather not have the money as I’m that scared over this. But before I do pluck up the courage and ask family to write on my journal for me I’d like to get my facts right first. If someone can please help me. My paydate is the 16th of each month
this is the date a lady put in my normal that my first payment will be
included in period 10/10/2024-09/11/24.
it just doesn’t seem correct to me. Waiting months from Assesment date!
Thank you

They often get this wrong. When going from LCW to LCWRA there's no waiting period, it's paid from the assessment period in which the decision was made.
The message you received was highly likely from a work coach. It's coming towards the end of your assessment period and when statements are produced it's a decision maker that does them so hopefully, the LCWRA element will be included in your next statement which is for the period 10th June to 9th July and payment due 16th July. You're not owed any money but going forward it should be paid each month.
While you wait for your next statement just reply to those messages above and tell them that you already had LCW so the waiting period doesn't apply to you and it should be included in your next statement.

thank you so much for your reply. I have now left a message in my journal explaining that I don’t think the dates she has put are correct with me being on LCW, I just really didn’t want to sound patronising and say “ you are wrong “ as you say hopefully the case manager will see it before my Assesment date!
Thank you again you are too kind giving such informative replies I really appreciat it x

No problem. I would have said exactly that.. “you are wrong” because they are indeed wrong.

I’ve been told that the lady who wrote the messages on my journal is my case manager so I’m not sure where I stand now with it

Your statement isn't due yet because the end of your assessment period isn't until 9th July. Once you have your statement if the element isn't included then you ask why or you can request the Mandatory Reconsideration but you can't do this yet.

thankyou, my case manager has now said she was incorrect and it will be added my next payment! Thankyou so much for the advice as I’d never have known! Is it possible to have an advance for change of circumstances after being awarded LCWRA do you know please? I’m struggling a lot atm so it would help a lot

That’s good! A case manager shouldn’t get these things wrong in the first place! Yes you can request a CoC advance payment.
