Hi Kev,
You have 30 days to ask for a mandatory reconsideration.
Chat to citizens advice online and they should be able to guide you as you may have missed the deadline now.
Do you feel that the assessment reflects what you discussed with the assessor or not?

Hi @kev69. Welcome to the community.
@Steve1987 has given some great advice there already. I just wanted to add my own experience. I applied for PIP and also scored 0 points. I put in a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR), then scored 4 points. Finally went to tribunal and I was awarded PIP. Don't see this is as an outright no, you still have a chance.
Here's some info about being over the 30 day limit for a MR
. You can still ask for one but you just have to explain why it is late. This could be due to your mental health.We're here to support you through this 😊

Thank you for your advice, I will try and write a letter for an MR, I do struggle with this sort of thing due to my anxiety

I completely understand. I also struggle with anxiety and the PIP process was quite difficult. Do you have any support at home?
Follow the guidance from the link I gave you and it will talk you through each step. If you have questions at any point or just need some support, come back and ask, we'll be here 😊

I don't have any support unfortunately and have spent the last 2 years constantly moving in and out of bad accommodation which has made my depression much worse, I am now in a caravan and get my rent paid so a bit of an improvement I guess. I

@kev69 . Do not give up. If you got a support worker ask for help. Otherwise go to citizens advice. Get the mandatory reconsideration and get help filing it up. A very good support worker will talk for you. But yes get that mandatory reconsideration. I know it is daunting to deal with all these issues but it is what they want. They want you to give up . Don't. If the mandatory reconsideration fails go to a tribunal. Do not give up. Get good help filling the form in and you will get it.

@kev69 sorry one more thing.
If you are dealing with hospitals. They normally got a social or support worker . But even your GP might be able to help by providing one for you.
I have anxiety and depression and it is very hard. But someone might be able to guide you and you will get it.

Ho @kev69 Write as much information regarding how disability affects you for each descriptor (if it applies to you) Real life instances eg, what happened, where, who (if anyone witnessed it) when. Also how long each descriptor would take you to do. Use separate bits of paper if needed, and always write national insurance and name at the top.
