Universal credit sanction

Hi,
I missed a meeting with universal credit due to personal reasons and was unable to communicate this… I have just received my statement and no deductions have been made but I’m worried about getting sanctioned. Can your statement be ammended or a sanction be added after you’ve received your statement or will any sanction I may receive be added to next months statement?

It will depend on how close to the end of your assessment period that you missed the appointment. If it was close to the end or after the end of that AP then yes you can be sanctioned for your next payment. If there's a sanction you will be notified. You will need to give a reason why you didn't attend the appointment.

hi poppy so the appointment was the day after my assessment period so would I got my statement the same day as the missed appointment, so would surely be too close of a time frame for it to be ammended

Then that will be the reason. You will need to make sure you tell them why you didn't attend and book your next appointment.
Have you reported a health condition and provided fit notes?

Yes you will. If there's a sanction it will be for next month.
