Motability car cameras

Does anyone know whether you need permission from Motability or the dealer to get dash cameras installed in your Motability vehicle.

Someone nearly crashed into me today and I realised even though he was driving on the wrong side of the road, I would prefer to have additional evidence if I needed to claim from insurance in the future?

I just found this info https://www.motaclarity.co.uk/faqs/motability-rules/can-i-fit-a-dashcam-in-my-motability-vehicle#:~:text=It%20can%20only%20be%20plugged,isn't%20permitted%20by%20Motability. which says you can have one as long as it isn't 'hard-wired' into the car.
