Which ESA are you claiming, contributions based/New style or Income Related? If Income Related are you buying another property?

Are you claiming a disability benefit such as PIP or DLA? If so then when you move to Scotland you will be transferred to Adult Disability Payment. (ADP)

Yes, I know you're claiming ESA but is it Income Related? Income Related ESA is means tested so if you have £60,000 in your bank then your ESA will stop.

Council Tax reduction will also stop.

Savings/capital of more than £16,000 means all means tested benefits will stop.

You didn't answer my other question either, are you planning on buying another home to live in once you sell your current one?

To be clear, if your ESA is more than £138.20 per week (£276.40/fortnight) then at least part of it will be Income Related. With savings of more than £16,000 the Income Related will stop.

Contributions based part will continue and you will receive £138.20/week.

If your partner is claiming any means tested benefits their self then all those will stop as well. You must both report the changes to all benefits departments that pay your benefits.

Let us know how your move to Scotland goes! We also don't get as many people sharing their experience with ADP as compared with PIP. So we'd be grateful if, when you switch to ADP, you let us know how your experience goes 😊

I am not moving for at least for two possibly three years as the cost would be around 2 to 3 grand minimum and selling my flat might take some time
