ESA CB with IR to UC (Managed Migration)
hello
IF your Legacy ESA claim is underlining CB but fully assessed for IR (with Support Group / EDP)
Will there still be a 2 week run on
(paid Full ESA/HB) when have to migrate to UC when invited?
Lastly….. Is there a methodology in how candidates are selected I.E. those invited in Sept 2024 and those invited as late as December 2025?
Thanks

I answer your question on another thread with this reply..
Yes the 2 week run on will include full ESA and HB. No, there's no logic in who they invite first. It's likely to be by specific area I would think but other than that I have no idea.

When does the 2 week run on start from? I applied for UC and filled in the online forms over a month ago, but haven't been able to verify ID yet. Checked my bank account yesterday and noticed I got an ESA payment this week which I wasn't expecting. Does that mean UC doesn't officially 'start' until after ID has been verified?

It should start from when you submit your claim for UC. I wouldn't have expected you to have received the most recent ESA payment.

Thanks Poppy. That's what I thought too. Not sure what's happened there.

Sorry to bump this thread but I've had another ESA payment this weekend. (Early due to BH)
I'm not getting UC yet as still not confirmed ID. Just want to check whether the UC will be backdated to the day that I filled in the online forms if I can ever complete the migration process?
And if that is the case, will the latest ESA payments be an overpayment that needs to be paid back?
I can only assume they won't contact ESA until after the ID check passes but I know my situation is unusual.

Is it your usual ESA amount @OverlyAnxious, including SDP?
UC are meant to send a stop notice to HB, ESA and Tax Credits as soon as you press submit for UC. When they finally sort your UC, if they do decide you've been overpaid ESA, I think you could argue official error as you've done everything you are supposed to.

Thanks Adrian. That makes sense. I wonder why the stop notice hasn't happened in my case.
Yes it is the same amount as usual including SDP. I have also received another HB payment at the normal rate during this period.

Hi,
I know this wasn't my thread but just wanted to close the question I asked for any future readers.
The ESA was overpaid, and will now be reclaimed from UC. It is being reclaimed as a lump sum from my first payment. I have enough in savings for this not to cause any problems, but want to make others aware that are not in the same situation.
There is also a discrepancy in the amount of overpayment. The letter in the journal says one amount. The actual deduction showing on the upcoming statement says another amount. And I've tried to calculate it myself from the dates they've provided, and I get a third amount, that is in between the first two! So I have no idea which one is correct now. And honestly, I'm not well enough to care at the moment. I assume the HB will also have been overpaid and that will be reclaimed by my local authority at some point.
The main point of this post is just to confirm that they can and do reclaim the overpayment made during the migration without any warning that this could happen.
