hi I’m wondering if anyone can help, I receive enhanced daily but only basic mobility, a result I really should have challenged at the time but was just so relieved it was done.
since the original assessment, (end of 2022) my condition has worsened greatly so I have reported a change of circumstances (supported by a few letters from my different consultants who firmly believe I more than meet the criteria).
I had my phone assessment with the independent assessor last week and have received a text saying I should have a response in up to 6 weeks, if they do award the one increased mobility element, will it be backdated and if so will it be to when I made the call to report the change or when the paperwork was returned and received by them?

Thank you in advance for any help

Hi @Thecraig - & welcome to the community. Altho they've said 6 weeks, be prepared it could be up to 12 weeks. Any change in the amount of PIP you receive will be from the date you rang to report a 'change of circumstances,' so long as the worsening of your condition had been for at least 3 months prior to this (which it sounds like from what you've said).

This is correct as this should have been challenged up to1 month after the decision was made.

You can ask for a review of the original decision, but, you have to show an error in law or something that was not looked at at the time of the assessment that yo ubelieve could have changed in your reported conditions.

Seems as though you have already mentioned a change.
