Hello good evening, i hope well. i wanted to come on here to talk about my situation and to get some help.

I am registered disabled and is just recently told I am qualified for 23 hours of domicilliary care and community care.

I am however yet to sign the financial assessment form even though I did the online form and it came back to say I wouldn't need to contribute anything towards my care.

I have been diagnosed with TBI and other many other conditions etc… However I wanted to see if anyone could get some of my questions answered in relation to the direct payment option as I was told I would be able to choose the person I wanted to provide ,me with the service eg friends family, or so. But I am not able going down the path of hiring a PA instead I am consider having the council manage my wallet and pay the carer. So I don't have the worry of emplying anyone and the paper work etc I was told will be involved.

My few questions is to do with filling the actual financial assessment form and D/Paymets etc, and who can I choose generally and how it work generally.

q.1) On page 1 of the financial assessment form, the first page ask about partners details, do I need to fill in my civil partner information if the assessment is just for me and he doesn't live at the same address and but he still visits and help out from time to time?

q.2) As I am still in between two minds at this stage trying to workout and trying to decide if this service is right for me, can anyone say if I have a right to withdraw my application at any stage if it feels too overwhelm and too much for me to cope with at any stage or and i did will/ can i be penalised if I later feel more ready to go through with the process… can they reject me .. if i did later wanted to follow through with the using the service… as there's lots involved and its very stressful at times I find I just want to not get the help, as so stressful.?

q.3) Can anyone share any information of if I were to go ahead and become a service user if this can affect me if I where to become pregnant with a child.. will this automatically means … as i would be under the service of Adult Social Care if they could take away my child automatically or if they will be involved with the child in anyway.?

q.4) I was told it would be okay to choose my own carer etc can anyone explain if this can be a spouse, in-laws and would they would required as carers to make notes on a day to day basis while caring for me to then supply to the council? My care plan includes includes , washing, cooking medication, shopping, going out into the community, laundry, toilet helping with documents letters ,etc_ are the carers usually asked to keep a diary or notes to then give an update of the hours covered etc?

q.5 Do you know if I can choose my spouse as my carer ( living at a separate address so they can recieve the direct payment for the 23 hrs of care offered will be for 5 days a week 3 times a day etc . He is also a registered carer with over 10 years of working as a carer himself.?

q.6 What are the social Worker key role, thereafter once my plan is in place and my carer start working with me , do they involve at this stage and thereafter, to give regular checks and updates etc or are the carers generally left to get on with their work and getting the job done and providing my care?

q.7 Any other pros and cons of becoming a service user as this is all new for me and I completely know nothing at all so I am so concerned whether this is the best option for me at this moment.

q.7) We are also looking into Carers Allowance instead or i don't know if it is possible to have both but I am a bit concern with loosing my housing benefits and council tax reduction and other benefits I've heard that can affected some benefits in some way… Can anyone share their experience and what is the best way to get the support I need to manage my daily needs - I get the enhanced rates on both elements of the PIP so I know I am entitled to some help but don't wants to put my self at a greater risks trying to find the right help I need .

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated . Thanks in advance.
