Hi, my name is KitKat_6! Looking for help with the cost of underlay and fitting carpets, any advice?
My husband is a recent leg amputee, he also has complex and multiple health issues. I am his paid carer, via universal credit, I am also his appointee. He also gets a pip allowance. We are moving to a flat, with wheelchair access. Although, we have just about managed to buy second hand carpets, we can not afford the cost of underlay or fitting. We also need blinds for privacy, as the window is big. Thanks.

Hi @KitKat_6, welcome to the community.
Have you had a look at the Turn2us Grant search? They can show you what you might be eligible for:
Sometimes the local authority will be able to offer grants or help, so it might be a good idea to contact your local council to see if they can offer any support:
Another thing that might be worth looking into are Home Improvement Agencies. Sometimes they can help you make adjustments to your home if you own your home or are privately renting:
Home Improvement Agency Directory for England - Find Home Improvement Agencies - Find My HIA
I hope those links are a good start but fingers crossed our members might be able to suggest some things too. Hope you can get something sorted soon 😊
