DWP Complaint

Hi all,

I just wondered if anyone had complained to the DWP and had positive results? I’ve complained about the lack of health warning, the fact that part of my call wasn’t recorded and the case manager etc. The deadline to hear back from them keeps getting pushed back but it’s supposed to be tomorrow. Any insight of what to expect from them would be great.

Thanks

Hi @Lee56584, I haven't personally complained, yet at least. Can I ask if this is a complaint about an assessment provider or the DWP themselves? Just to make sure I get that right!

How are you feeling about it? The organisation you are complaining to/about should have a complaints procedure, you could ask what it is.

    Hi @Jimm_Scope

my complaint is with the PIP case manager and the way it was dealt with. I’m feeling ok about it it’s just the waiting and finding the outcome. So I’ll keep you posted.

I hope you hear back soon @lisalev xxx

Just an update. The deadline was today and I’ve still not heard anything. I’ve contacted my MP so hopefully they’ll deal with it

Update: Had Maximus send me email regarding a complaint. Still no appointment. Said would re assess me, but God only knows when! CHD organisation is gone, so when they were calling me they were not in business!

From Sept 7th Maximus is dealing with all assessment, trying ringing them, always engaged, wall hit!😒

so I rang PIP today and they said a letters been sent on Monday. She wouldn’t tell me what it said though. Just said I had to wait and read it myself. So it can’t be positive if that’s the case. I wasn’t expecting anything major to change anyway. At least I still have the appeal ongoing though

Hope the letter comes through quickly @Lee56584. It might not be a negative thing, sometimes they don't like to talk about certain things over the phone. Keep us posted with how you get on.

I will thank you. I’ve had a payment of £75 from DWP resource management so clearly they aren’t doing anything major xxx

Hi Lee, well done on getting any money from DWP!

I spoke to new assessment people Maximus and now wait for new assessment, last people now closed. Did not speak, cannot call them, called them 3 times, cannot get through. I was told by manager would get appointment soon, but soon, how long is a piece of string. Christmas is looming. Was so fed up yesterday, went out and sat on a bench in sunshine, as cannot bear to open emails and get disappointment.

Please bear in mind, when had previous assessment a year ago, received no money at extra, so all that stress was for nothing.

Ah no, it’s ridiculous. Sometimes it’s nice to just take a breather and get some vitamin D while you get the chance. I’m so sorry you are having to go through this.

I’m waiting on my new appeal date but like you said we could be waiting a while. I hope you get some good news soon! Xxx

You too Lee, do not think this side of Christmas, so guess start thinking about that soon.

Hi all, I don’t know what to make of this email from my MP so any info would be great.

I still haven’t received the complaint outcome right enough so I don’t know what was said but I feel like it’s been very anticlimactic and I’m still waiting on the appeal date too. It’s never ending stress!

Glad you've got a reply from your MP there @Lee56584

It looks like they're just explaining what the £75 was for and that the reply that you're waiting on has gone to a different team, for some reason it looks like asking for an email response takes longer to do than sending you a letter.

Then they're just asking you if you've asked for a paper based tribunal, or if you'll be attending, which would make it an oral tribunal as you'd be speaking.

I know I just expect it to sound like two separate things. I just expected the £75 to be compensation for my complaint but it doesn’t read like that does it.

    Thank you for the clarification
