Work Capability Assessment
Hi, really upset, after waiting for work capability assessment, had call due on Sunday yesterday at 11am. As I paced the floor waiting for call, it turned 12pm and nothing! Called them, they said they called, well was sitting there all day at home! They have said I have been classified as Did Not Attend (dna). What happens now. Tried to call the centre, there number is not in service (CHDa centre). I have Sleep epilepsy, Anxiety along with various other. Received after last one. Then asked to be re assessed. Filled UC50 form. So they have that.
Will they resend appointment? I am at wits end called DWP, and getting nowhere, please help thanks Lisa

Sorry Good afternoon, hope you are all well, Lisa

Hi Lisa,
Have you put a message on your UC journal to say that you were there when they claimed to have called?
Did you check they have the correct phone number in case they were trying the wrong one by mistake?
Some of the assessment providers have changed this month which may explain why you can't get through to them on the phone.

Yes all of the above thanks

Thanks appreciate that, you are right, they could have left a message! At one point, was so worried to go to loo, in case they rang, or were delayed, took bloody phone into bathroom!
Already complained.

Put the complaint on gov.uk pretty straight forward, if nothing, feel like I am doing something today. Cannot make my self ill today.

Yeah, the assessor should have a complaints procedure @lisalev. Did they say they tried to call you more than once or just the one time then gave up?

Ask them to tell you the exact time that you were called and the number they dialled.
0 -
No they did not tell me when they called or time, but as I had the phone with me at all times, even in bathroom , and kitchen , did not go out, stayed at home. I have no deaf problems, phone working fine!

If there was someone to tell me what time that would be great but there is not.

There must be someone where they missed called on this damn assesment, yes really **** off today!

Excuse swearing

Ask DWP to investigate the time of the call and the number dialled by the assessment centre.

Will do, just checked letter, they have my correct telephone number

Its a bit after the event, as they have already written me off and said did not attend!

You're frustrated @lisalev, you can swear don't worry. As long as it isn't excessive 🤣 You are right to be angry, as you did attend! You were by your phone the entire time! I would continue with your complaint and ask PIP for another assessment time.

Its not PIP, its work capability, which by the way, have received nothing at all on top of basic UC payment!

If this a a brand new claim for UC. Not a migration from ESA. Then you won't receive any extra money unless they put you in the LCWRA group, which will only happen after this assessment has been completed. Even then, you will have to wait a while for the actual payment to come through, it is 3 full assessment periods from the date you put in the first fit note.

This is not a new assessment as was assessed before. Received nothing for doing all that! Only on LCw not Lcwra

Ah, I see. Yes, that is correct unfortunately, there is no extra payment for LCW now.
You can appeal the decision if you don't get LCWRA this time and believe you should.
