New carpets

Hi I need help with paying for new carpets due to floor damage due to the council miss fittings part on the main water tank and they will not pay out I'm a career for my wife so don't get much money

    I'm sorry to hear about the floor damage. So can I assume because it was to do with the water tank that it ended up leaking and causing water damage? Is this a council house or a private home can I ask?

    If it's the council that were responsible for it and the water tank had an issue I'm wondering how they can suggest they don't need to help with making it right. Could you tell us a little bit more about the situation?
