First assessment date
hi all,
Just got a call from my asd referral I have my first of 5 assessments, trouble is he was saying about an informant that knows me they can get info from, I don’t have anyone I said this during the call and he was a bit puzzled and I sensed he didn’t want to continue with the assessment, but said the assessor will discuss this at the first appt

Hey @apples, that does sound quite difficult. An informant is pretty vital to an ASD assessment, you may not even know or recognise everything you struggle with because if you do have ASD then you've had it your whole life. So someone else who knows you well and maybe notices the things you don't about yourself is a vital part of assessing it.
It doesn't have to necessarily be someone who has known you for all your life, but at least some part of your life. For instance I am actually the informant for my partners ASD referral, though we've only known each other for around 6 years.
Is there anyone from your childhood that knew you that you can reach out to at all possibly?
In some cases it can even be someone who has known you for just a few months. The longer the better for the assessment, but someone is better than nobody.

hi @Jimm_Scope
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I have no one at all, I’ve never really had friends and the one friend I did have moved away many years ago
Will they still do the assessment without anyone else giving them info
