EESA

I would like to ask for help because unfortunately I do not understand everything well. I just read in the news that ESA will also be closed, my wife and I will receive EESA, will it also be closed? Because we have not received a letter from the DWP regarding this. Please help me understand. Thank you very much. I warmly welcome everyone

There’s no such thing as EESA, that’s just what they use to pay your money Into your bank. What you claim is known as ESA.
Universal Credit is replacing all means tested benefits.. Income Related ESA/JSA, Income Support, housing benefit and Tax credits.
If your ESA is Income Related you will be invited to apply for Universal Credit anytime from now up until December 2025. You will receive a letter inviting you to apply and you will have 3 months in which to claim. Once you claim UC your Income Related will end after 2 weeks. Same applies to housing benefit if you claim that.

It's just not clear. It was written in the newspaper that it will cease to exist in 2024. You say 2025. Which is true, because we really haven't received a letter about this from the DWP. Thank you very much in advance.

For those claiming Income Related ESA your migration timescale is between now and December 2025.
