Hi @pillows, welcome to the community. I'm so sorry for the loss of your husband.

I'm afraid this isn't something I've come across much before, but I did find some information that suggests that some people should receive benefits for two assessment periods after the death of their partner under certain circumstances:

The Universal Credit Regulations 2013 (legislation.gov.uk)

Would you feel up to asking Universal Credit whether this would apply to you? You could pop a message on your journal if you didn't feel up to calling. I can't promise that it'll be the case for you, but it might be worth asking just in case.

You might also like to check whether you'd be eligible for a bereavement support payment to help cover any costs:

    Bereavement Support Payment: Eligibility - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

I'm sorry you're having to deal with the stress of benefits after what you've been through, it can't be easy. I hope you can get things sorted soon.

Do you know which elements specifically they have removed from your claim?

Hi @pillows I can see the community has already reached out with advice. But I just wanted to offer my condolences.

thank you every body it has been hard as his family wanted him buried in malta where they are from so it has been a busy month i haven't even had time to think just needing to be practical

my money they have stopped the extra bedroom and also taken money for my daughter living with us which they didn't take before, they stopped his carers and the standard amount is less i know it would happen just thought he was still with us for part of the assessment i didnt think they would stop it immediately
