Pip renewal

I got a pip renewal form months ago, filled in and sent back, I received a text stating it was received and I will possibly need an assessment. I’ve just got a text saying the medical professional has reviewed my forms and that now DWP will make a decision and tell me within 6 weeks..
I thought I had to have an assessment so I’m confused and now worried they may have assessed my form wrong or what if they stop my pip even though I’m actually worse now than I was when I originally got pip and I sent supporting documents from doctors and my therapists along with my forms.

Heya @Jackson87 Sometimes the assessors/decision makers will go with a 'paper based assessment' if they feel that you've provided them with all the information they need to make a decision, so this could be a good thing. I'd try not to panic too much. 😊

@Albus_Scope thank you, I did put in a full sheet of all my diagnosis from the specialists and GP too so I do hope it is all okay. I can’t help but get worried unfortunately but thank you

I totally understand the worry, I've been there myself a few times now. Saying "don't worry" is certainly easier said than done. Just be gentle with yourself. 😊

I've just had a paper based decision but mine wasn't sent to the assessors at all. It doesn't mean it's bad news. My award was increased to Enhanced for both parts. Hopefully you won't be waiting too much longer for a decision.

@poppy123456 all my text says is:
About your PIP review. The health professional has sent us their report.
We will make a decision on your PIP, but it may take 6 weeks before you hear from us.
You will continue to get PIP while your award is being reviewed. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.
I already have enhanced so I hope it stays the same0 -
Yes, that's a standard text they send once the report is returned. Decisions are up to 12 weeks.

That wasn’t the original text I got after I sent the form back.. it’s the one I just received today after 2 months of waiting for news back from them

ah I just realised what you meant sorry 🤦

No worries. If you only returned the form 2 months ago then your timescale has been extremely quick up to now. Many people are waiting a year for a decision on a review. Mine too just under a year.
