NICS Class 2 overpayment letter from HMRC
Hello Scope team !
Another one, I’m unsure about . Today my husband received a letter from HMRC stating that he has over paid his NIC class 2 since 2017, however just before he got LWRCA a couple of weeks ago, his NI was as it should be yet now it states that he was claiming as a disabled person or carer or were on benefits throughout that period as is mine now (although I haven’t had a letter) but we only went on UC in 2020 for a year as we set up his own self employed business from latter 2019 to 2021 but then lost the company due to lockdowns but went back into full time employment from there on to this year when he had his motorbike accident.
Anyhow, the letter stated that he could either fill the back of the form to return and get a refund or could not and would benefit towards other employment benefits yet we’ve no idea of how much the refund could be and I certainly have no idea of what benefits this could help with.
finally , looking at his NI record and mine also, there are now 104 weeks in NI a contributions over one year x 3 ? What does that mean ?
Thanks as always in advance .
