LCWRA
hello I had my work capability assessment on the 25 th September over the phone and I’ve received no outcome when I’ve contacted u c they said that nothing shows on their screen and to put it in my journal I did that and they said that it’s been sent back to u c with the decision makers and their recommendations and I have to wait for the outcome it’s been almost 5 weeks is this normal??

Yes that's normal. It can take anything up to 12 weeks for a decision. Some have decisions within a week and others wait much longer.

thank you so much will any money be backdated xx

If the decision is LCWRA then it will depend on what date exactly you provided your first fit note and what date you usually receive your money each month.
Not everyone is owed money because it's not paid at for 3 full assessment periods and the extra money is paid from the 4th month, with first payment being the end of that month.

Hey @Ellie18, as Poppy says that is fairly normal, it can be quite a wait unfortunately! Poppy is also spot on about payments as well. Do let us know if you have any other questions about Universal Credit, LCWRA, or anything else benefits related 🙂

hello my fit note went in august the 1st also I have my u c slot into two payments each month and that varies on dates xx

That means if found to have LCWRA your first payment will be either Dec or Jan.
The exact date will depend on what dates your assessment periods are or what dates you usually receive your money each month.

hello poppy I have been awarded the lwrca I put my first fit note in august the 1st my payments are the 7 th and 21st of every month as I get it every fortnight so I don’t go so long without money I claim carers allowance and and husband claims the carers element for me but I’ve not received any money for the lwrca xx

What dates do your assessment periods cover please? If you don't know what this is, login to your journal and click "payments and advances" then click payments and it will take you to your statements page. On there it will say "the amount you get is based on your circumstances from X date to y date" can you please tell me what those dates are?
Are you also receiving carers element for yourself? I would expect you to be due to claiming carers allowance.
Also, does your UC include any Transitional Protection due to migrating from another benefit?
Sorry for all the questions, I'll be able to advise you once you answer these.

hello poppy it’s from 1st of November until the 30 th I have also been paid less as it was a 5 week working week for my husband I haven’t been paid anything extra for the transitional protection xx

and also I am receiving carers element for myself and my husband is also receiving it for me xx

Thanks, your waiting period is as follows..
Aug, Sept, Oct… LCWRA element starts from assessment period 1st Nov to 30th Nov and first payment is 7th December.
If this element wasn’t showing on your most recent statement then they will owe you the extra for this month.
However, because your UC also includes carers element for yourself this will now stop and the LCWRA element will replace it. This means you’ll be better off by the difference in carers element and the LCWRA element, which is £217.88/month.
Regarding your UC payment being less this month, the more earnings received the less UC entitlement there will be.

thank you so as the extra doesn’t show on my statement does that mean I will have it in January my husband also gets the carers element for me but he works part time also xx

It means they will owe you for this month, which will be paid as a separate payment.
Yes, I know your husband claims carers element for looking after you, that isn’t affected. It’s your carers element that will be affected and will now stop due to the LCWRA element.
