UC
hi,
i am in need of some advice.
I am a single mum on UC, my son is 18 and in full time home education.he is looking to start work around his studies. I wanted to find out how much he can earn before his child elements stops?
And secondly, will his earnings affect my housing benefits?
Thank you

If he’s remaining in full time non advanced education then his earnings will not affect any of your UC.
This includes housing element, as you will be claiming help with the rent through UC and not from housing benefit. Unless living in either supported or temporary housing.0 -

as he is home educated and learns at evenings, he could work more hours.I was just wondering what amount would affect housing element? Or child element. I understand for part time but if he does more hours…

Regardless of what he earns it will not affect your UC this is because you are still receiving the child element for him.
