Can children under the age of 16 unclaim for disability allowance if they don’t like it?

    Hello. Nice to meet u albus . I was wondering if any children under the age of 16 can unclaim for a disability allowance. if they don’t like it. Or does it get sent t the bank any way and they have no other choice than to take and spend it while their 16th birthday .

    I've been unable to find any information regarding coming off disability allowance, but what I'll do is pop your discussion over to the benefits category and hopefully someone in the know will see and offer some top advice. I hope that's ok?

    Claims for under 16's are made and managed by their parent/guardian.

    You can’t just end a disability benefit claim. If there’s been changes to their health condition and it will affect entitlement to DLA then you can report changes. They should then send a form out to you to fill in and return.
