Earnings Threshold

Heya @Stickman there's no earnings limit for PIP, so nothing to worry about there.
£183.50 looks right, but there's also the rule that you don't work over 16 hours.

OK, thanks.

This would be known as permitted work for ESA and it's less than 16 hours per week, rather than 16 or more hours. If someone worked 16 hours or more their ESA would end.

OK, and what about tax? I understand that tax should be taken out before the money comes to me?

Hey, the earnings limit is about income you receive after you have taken off tax and national insurance. Hope this helps!

Right, thanks.

OK, as I am claiming Work related ESA, am I OK to carry on with this? I've worked out what I've got from my music library company and it's £679.05 BUT it is for 13 weeks, which is £52.23 a week.

I have completed a PW1 form and need to post it back. Can it go normal post? Or does it have to be Recorded Delivery?
0 -
Recorded delivery is not needed because it's not proof it's arrived. Just get proof of posting from your local post office. Or you can take the form to your local Job centre.

One last quick question, sorry to be a pain, will my earnings from permitted work - I only work 4 hours a week, affect my Housing Benefit?
0 -
For permitted work, no they won't.

Alright, I'm good to go, I'll get my form off.

I've finally posted my PW1 form today, but photocopied it first so I have a copy stored on computer.
