Pip payment

Im sure this has been asked loads of times! But I can't find the answer on here.
I got a text saying I've been awarded PIP this morning!! And the letter will come in 2 weeks. If I call them will they tell me what my award and backdated is? (The text says don't call!)

That's great Stroud2024! I am not sure. I don't think I got a text message and it was just the letter that arrived.

Thank you!
Perhaps I should just wait then actually

Maybe someone else will know who has had the text message to? I can imagine just finding out you have an award via the text message would make you want to find out now the details of it! I understand how much emotional energy and time and effort is needed to complete the PIP forms so I hope you can enjoy knowing you made it this far!! :)

Great news. Yes you can ring them to ask what you've been awarded and they will tell you. You can also ask when to expect any money owed into your bank and they will tell you.

Oh great thank you so much!

I called them. I really shocked. They only awarded standard mobility, nothing for daily living. I didn't think that happened I can't understand!

I'm sorry to hear you're not happy with the award you have. You can be awarded any rate of PIP, even just standard mobility. There's members here who have been awarded the same.
If you're not happy you can challenge that decision by requesting the Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) You have 1 month from the date of decision to request this. You should put that in writing (please don't ring) stating where and why you think you should have scored those points.
Most MR decisions remain the same. If this happens you can proceed to Tribunal. Your current award will continue through the process.

Oh gosh. It's all just too much. Should I wait for my letter as I only got the text this morning and called to see what I was awarded

Yes, I would wait and then you can see exactly where you scored those points.
