Hi, my name is ucmc! Can anyone help with MR timescales for Universal Credit?

Hi all,

I’ve just come across the group when looking for guidance on mandatory reconsideration timescales for universal credit.
My request was sent by a local charity law centre and my deadline was 15th July. Not one word back and it’s now 4th November! I did ring to check after 5 weeks and was told it would be escalated as it seemed quite a while. The response was written in my journal saying they don’t have a time limit and are very busy and it concerns me they made no acknowledgement they even had it. I cannot respond as the journal is closed.
the law centre sent a follow up complaint around 18th September but still nothing other than a letter asking for the £393 advancement they paid me! My last tax credit payment was the beginning of April and I was 3 days late migrating due to ill health supported by GP letter in the MC request so the £393 is the only benefits money I have had in 7 months :-(

It can take up to 15 weeks for a MR decision. Why has your UC claim closed?
