Working and care element on uc
Hi all :)
Im new here and need some advice.
I work 40 hours a week, (have no choice)
Husband has not worked for over 11 years as he is disabled(anexity, depression, degenerative spinal and disc desease, arthritis etc)
Gets high rate care and motability has done since last year i think. Been on dla and pip for years.
Now my question is this, as i work 40 hours a week can i claim care element on UC?
He has to get up with me at 5am ao i can help him get sorted for the day. He takes our daughter to school and picks her up.
I go to work come home and then hekp him do dinner get ready for bed washing etc.
We have been on uc three months and honestly it makes me so anxious about everything.
Hes just been awarded LWRCA aswell so waiting on that to come in.
If you got this far thanks :)

Yes you can because carers element has no earnings limit like carers allowance does. To claim this you need to report a change of circumstances and then click caring for someone. Then report caring for him through there. Your maximum UC entitlement will then increase by £198.31/month.
