I feel relieved after my PIP was extended

I just received a letter today from PIP that it was extended for another 6 years until 2030, i was scared it might have been taken off me.
I didn't realise they could extend it by that long usually two, but im happy anyway

Great news. I can relate to how good this feels because the same happened to me a few weeks ago and my award was increased to maximum PIP and extended until Oct 2030.
PIP awards can be anything up to 10 years.. ongoing.

Can I just ask if you don't all mind.Is there a rough estimate after the phone assessment of when I might hear back

Thanks all, much appreciated.
There's a huge backlog at the moment with PIP, you could be waiting for a long while apparently. Shortage of case workers to award pip or look at claims

Ok thank you

That's great @Kaliwax, it must be a weight off your mind 😊

Once the assessment report is returned it can take up to 12 weeks for a decision.

I already returned the written report and that's already been about 12 weeks. Now I'm having a phone assessment. So this takes a further 12 weeks?

As your assessment isn't until next week then the report will not have been returned back to them yet. The report is what the assessor writes after the assessment has taken place. After that it can take a further 12 weeks.
What you returned will be the form you filled out, if this is a first time claim then that would have been the PIP2 form.

So pleased for you both.
It must be such a massive relief.
I am due to receive a renewal review letter December 2025 and already dreading it.

Hi there so i sent my new assessment forms to the dwp in January of this year and I still have know idea what is going on they send you a new form give you 2 weeks to get it back to them from the date on the first letter then you have to have everything back to them in 2 weeks well by the time I had the forms from them I had 1 week to fill them in and returned and I'm still waiting for some kind of update as to where there up to in my review which is not helping with my disability and my mental health plus I have had some more conditions to add after hospital appointment's and tests so I was wondering if some might have had to wait this long as it's from January and now it's November Thank you for any help you can offer.
