Esa and car accident compensation

Hi everyone.
I was involved in a car accident last year and i am seeking compensation. I have recieved a copy of the CRU and it is a 0 amount due is nothing. I have never claimed benifits for it but I do recieve benifits for MS. I am on esa contributions based. No other means tested benifits at all.
Do I still need to contact dwp about this or do they already know?

I went through this myself 18 months ago.
The certificate you received shows that zero is due to the DWP CRU, as you have not claimed any benefits as a result of the accident.
Hopefully this indicates you will be receiving a compensation offer soon.
It all takes so long doesn't it!
There is nothing you need to do DWP wise now or in the future, as you don't receive any means tested benefits.
For the benefit of others reading, even if you did receive means tested benefits, personal injury compensation is disregarded for one year.

aah! OK. I find all this kind of stuff so confusing 😕. I don't want to get into trouble with my existing benifits, you know? I wasn't sure if I had to call them etc. I mean, i sold my house and they were ok with that! I am on no means tested benifits. Only a private pension which I have declared to them years ago. I'm on only contributions based esa.

I understand, you really don't have anything to do or worry about, as your benefit is Contributions based.

No need at all, as you are not on means tested benefits.
