Hi, my name is 852! ESA questions.

Good afternoon Sir or MadamI would like you to help me with these 2 questions.I receive ESA benefit related to contribution. My partner's Jobseek's Allowance has ended. My partner worked for 13 years. My partner is 64 years old, in March she will be 65.
1- My partner worked and contributed, can she also claim ESA benefit.???
2- If my partner claims ESA benefit, will it affect my ESA benefit or not???
Thank you very much for your attentionI appreciate your response in advance.

Your partner will only be able to claim New style ESA if they have a health condition that affects their ability to work. They will need a fit note to be able to claim this. This will not affect your contributions based ESA.
If they don't have a health condition then you should both use a benefits calculator to check entitlement to Universal Credit. If you have capital of more than £16,000 you'll be excluded from claiming.
