hi just after some advice. My brother claims lcwra uc and pip. I care for him but I don’t claim carers allowance because I work but on uc. My question is could I claim carers element on uc without it affecting his benefits?

I found some information here about carers element. It says that if you claim it might affect your brother if he claims Severe Disability Payment. Hope that helps.

As your brother claims UC he will not be receiving SDP. Therefore, you can claim the carer element of UC for caring for him, without it affecting his benefits.
