Transitional protection element
Hello everyone we have recently moved over to UC from legacy benefits and have now today received our 2nd payment statement
There is no mention of the transitional support element on my statement
I was under the impression there should be ?
I have messaged the payment department and received the following via my journal today can anyone confirm its correct please thank you
The transitional protection payment is only paid if the amount of Universal Credit you are entitled to is less than the amount you were entitled to on your Legacy benefit(s). As you don't have a transitional protection payment, this means that your Universal Credit is not less than the amount you received on Legacy benefit(s).

Yes this is correct. Transitional Protection isn't on every claim, it's designed to top up UC if UC is less than legacy benefits.
Is your UC payment equal to or more than what you got in legacy benefits?

Yes seems to be pretty much the same I was just unsure if the element should have been added either way but thank you for confirming :)
