Hi, my name is Lesley23! Has anyone managed to get a mortgage on only benefits?

I've just joined today and I'm wondering if anyone has experience of getting a mortgage when the sole source of income is state benefit including PIP. I realise that it is difficult but wondered if anyone had managed it.

Hi @Lesley23, welcome to the community. I don't have any experience of this myself I'm afraid, but I hope some of our members might be able to share whether they managed it.
I've popped your post into our housing section where they can find it more easily 😊
I hope you'll enjoy your time on the community.

A few years a go I tried to get a mortgage with my medical retirement pension and benefits together, but they would only accept my pension. They wouldn't include any of my benefits.
That was over ten years a go so it might have changed now.
