I completed a UC50 form last December as to date have not had any cerespondence as to the outcome of this.Could someone tell me how it's taking so long.I already get ADP as I have a few medical conditions that prevent me from working.I had to give up my job in the NHS because of these issues.Yamus20.

Hey there @Yamus20 and welcome to the community.

Unfortunately we'd be unable to say why it's taking so long. Have you spoken to anyone at the DWP to ask for an update?

Yes on several occasions and am just told that there is such a big backlog.I find this hard to believe as my son who is autistic recently applied for UC as he can't work.As part of this his mother and me completed a UC50 assessment on his behalf.Yesterday his mother received a notification to say that he will be getting extra money now that he's in the LWCRA group.I just don't get why mine is taking so long,I could be losing out on extra money that I may be entitled to.Yamus20.

Was your UC50 for a new claim or a re assessment?

No it was a re-assessment as my medical conditions have worsened since I had to give up work.I also had to complete a change in circumstances for my ADP this was due to me going deaf in both ears and having tinitus and balance issues.Yamus20.

The resources are currently being put in to new claims which is why your son got his sorted so quickly.

If you triggered the re assessment after reporting a change in health (and I'm assuming you are currently LCW), if found to have LCWRA then the DWP will backdate that to when you reported the change.

I do know of a few routine re assessments with a similar time frame, forms returned Nov/Dec 2023 & yet to have an assessment booked.

You could try contacting the assessment provider directly:
