I've finally got a text this morning saying I was awarded pip months of worrying... I was on low rate before for PTSD but now it's gone up because of fibromyalgia and MMAD... I'll have to wait for letter but I'm disappointed they only recommend I have it for 2 years... don't see how my walking will get better... did anyone els get longer from DWP? as it was a recommend time frame... as no wonder there's a massive back log if there only giving short times before review again…

    Oh that's brilliant news @sunrise99 congratulations! I bet that's a huge relief?
I was awarded two years as well after my review recently, which seems very odd, as I'm pretty sure my autism wont go away. 😆 I'm going to a tribunal over mine as amongst other things, I feel the award length is very silly indeed.

You can challenge the length of the award only. The first step to this is to request the Mandatory Reconsideration, within 1 month of the date of the decision. You should put your request in writing stating the reasons why you think your award should be longer.

If you’re happy with the award itself you should tell them that but they will look at the whole award again. The majority of MR decisions do remain the same anyway.

If it gets to Tribunal you need to make sure you tell them that you’re happy with the award itself and make it clear it’s just the length you’re challenging.
