hello, I wondered if anyone knows the answer ….. basically I was just wondering does universal credit get backdated ? Thanks sarah

UC is a payment made up of many different elements.

If you’re asking if it can be backdated to a date before you claimed then only in the most extreme circumstances and even then it’s a maximum of 1 month.

sorry, yes I was very vague, I meant do they take the universal credit award and any housing award from the date the form was received (the date I completed and sent the form
Or is it from the date it’s compleated.

Once you start the application, you have 28 days to finish and press submit.
It's the date you submit the form that counts.
